Romantic Home Decorating Ideas for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day... the most romantic day of the year. We know you're busy planning romantic dinner dates, but don't forget to dedicate some thought to your home decor! Your friends at Fran Campbell Team are here to help you plan a truly romantic Valentine's Weekend with these must-try Valentine's home decorating tips.

Flowers
Nothing says "romance" the way flowers do! Rather than dropping lots of money on one gigantic bouquet, strategically place three or four small arrangements in different rooms to spread the romantic vibe throughout your home.

Rose Petals
If you don't want to spend the money on real flowers, consider purchasing silk rose petals. You should be able to get several (upwards of 1,000) petals for a very small amount, and the result is just as effective. Scatter the petals along your counters, shelves, window sills... anywhere you can think of!

Pillows
Pillows may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of romantic decorations, but don't underestimate their potential! One or two soft throw pillows can seemingly soften an entire room. Use pink, red, or white pillows to tie into the Valentine's Day theme.

Candles
Candles are probably the most traditional Valentine's Day decorating tool of all time. Candles provide wonderful ambiance and aromas, so you really can't go wrong! Place your favorite candles all around your room, light them, and shut off the electric lights - and viola! Your room has become a romantic paradise.

Lighting
Turn off the bright overhead lights - it's time to embrace mood lighting at its finest! You can do this easily by turning lamps on to their lowest settings, or you can go all out and hang twinkle lights around your windows and door frames.

Balloons
Romance doesn't always have to be formal and elegant - bright, energetic decorations can lighten the mood and add a sense of fun to your romantic hideaway. Valentine's Day helium balloons tied to railings or bed frames can be a great way to liven things up a bit!

Chocolate
We all think of chocolate as a delicious Valentine's treat, but it can also be used as a decorative tool to set the mood. Arrange some chocolate treats on a dish and you've got a decoration that looks good enough to eat.
