Lake of the Ozarks Halloween Events 2012

The time for Ghosts and Goblins to come out is just around the corner and the Lake of the Ozarks Community is the perfect place for safe trick or treating options to enjoy.  Check out some of these community supported events around the lake that will provide a safe and fun environment for your trick-or-treaters!!
  • Harper Chapel United Methodist Church will be offering a trunk full of goodies at their Trunk-or-Treat Event.  Such an easy and safe way for your kids to show off their costumes and fill their bag full of treats.   The event is October 27th at 6:00 pm
  • Ha Ha Haunt will take place at the Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Camdenton Mo again this year.  Enjoy a nice walk along the trail lit with jack-o-laterns or if you dare, explore the spooky ruins of the famous castle.  There will also be music, campfire for toasting marshmallows, hot cocoa and various Halloween crafts.  The event is free and takes place from 5-8pm on October 26th
  • Halloween on the Strip is an annual favorite!!   From 2-4pm on October 29th the shops along the Bagnell Dam strip will invite scary little critters to stop by.  There will also be games and a costume contest with prizes in different age categories held at Luby's Stage on Bagnell Dam Strip -  but the contest is not limited to children, this year, bring your dog in costume to compete for a title too!!  The children's contest will begin at 4:00 pm with the dog contest following at 4:30 pm.
  • The Tri County YMCA will also be joining the Halloween fun with their Halloween Spooktacular.  There will be pumpkin carving contest, costume contests, kid friendly haunted house, a petting zoo, food and drinks and games for children up to the age of 12!  The events will start at 7:00 pm on October 29th.
  • Another annual favorite is the Halloween Spook-tacular Event  held at the Osage Premium Outlets.  The stores will welcome trick or treating from 2-7pm on October 31st.   There will also be a costume contest divided into age categories from 5-7.
  • Last but not least....Walk on Rocks will be held at the Hy-Vee Parking lot from 4-7pm on October 31st.  This event does have a $2 entry fee, but all proceeds will benefit the Dream Factory.  The parking lot will be set up in a winding maze with local businesses handing out treats as children make their way through the safe trail.
Have fun celebrating Halloween - but be sure to find a safe environment your family and watch out for little ones along the streets and neighborhoods.
