Labor Day Events at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's that time of year again! Vacationers from all over the Midwest will be making their way to the Lake of the Ozarks for a beautiful summer sendoff weekend - and for good reason. With tons of fireworks displays and great local events, the Lake is a great place to celebrate this wonderful American holiday. As you make your plans for the weekend, you may want to consider adding some of these activities/events to your list.

5th Annual Diamond Drag Boat Nationals

The Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series will take to the waves this weekend, September 4th-6th, to compete for first place - and, of course, ultimate bragging rights! CBS will be here to broadcast the event right here at the World's Only Purpose Built Drag Boat Lake located just south of the Dirt Track in Wheatland, Missouri. Should be a thrilling event, as always!

Rocky Mount Sweet Corn Festival

Also back for its fifth year, the Rocky Mount Sweet Corn festival promises crafts, food, and their famous grilled "sweet corn." This fundraiser is designed to help support the local fire department; the money raised at the festival will be used to pay for things the fire department needs that are generally not covered in the yearly budget. This event is a great one to bring the whole family to!

Asleep At The Wheel Concert

If you've never had a chance to enjoy the music stylings of Asleep At The Wheel, you're missing out - but there's still time to remedy that! As part of their Fall 2015 Concert Series, Asleep At The Wheel will be performing at Shawnee Bluff Vineyard at 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 5th. Parking is $5 (half of the proceeds will benefit the L.A.M.B. Charity) and ticket prices range from $25-$50.

Fireworks

These other events are great, but we'd be kidding ourselves if we tried to pretend like fireworks weren't one of the biggest attractions at the Lake this holiday weekend! Fireworks will be held all over the Lake Area to celebrate Labor Day, including...
