Lake of the Ozarks has an incredible climate for business and networking!
If you are planning a move to the Lake of the Ozarks, you should know that we have a thriving business community and there are more business networking opportunities at the Lake than you can imagine.
Building trust and credibility with potential clients and customers should be a top goal for any business person, regardless of what business sector you operate in. If you are new to the community, it simply takes a little effort to get out and meet other business leaders to build visibility and credibility in the local area. Once you have it, the business will come.
Fortunately, at the Lake of the Ozarks, there's plenty of opportunity to do this!
So how do you get visibility for your business?
One of the quickest ways to gain visibility is to NETWORK! Take every opportunity you have to attend the various networking events at the Lake of the Ozarks and meet as many people as you can. By consistently attending our local business networking events, you will rapidly develop the personal relationships that can lead to more business. People take notice when you are out and about, and through consistent interactions with other local business owners, your credibility grows.
What kind of networking events are available at the Lake?
The spectrum of networking opportunities is wide depending on your style and comfort level.
Here is a list for you to consider:
- Chamber socials, meetings, or ribbon cuttings
At the Lake, we are lucky to have several active Chambers that support business in our area. You can check their event calendars on the websites below: - Community organizations such as Kiwanis, Rotary, VFW, Elks (the lake has many more)
- Organized referral groups such as Business Network International (BNI)...the lake has 3 thriving chapters
- Weekly Business Socials
- Charity organizations and other events
... and many others!!
Quality referrals take some time and effort to receive. The two most important areas to focus on are "visibility" and "credibility". Potential clients want to see you and talk with you often. Most business is based on relationships, and by being "visible" you are able to cultivate those personal relationships that often lead to a business deal. Once you have visibility, you can then move into establishing your credibility. Displaying a positive attitude, following up on what you say you'll do, and having a reputation in the community of customer and community service goes a long way to establishing credibility in our thriving business community.
